Accessibility Statement

Scope and description of the service

This statement applies to the domain c-and-a.com, including its subdomains (“Web Version”) and the mobile app version (“App”) (together ”Online Shop”). The Online Shop is managed by C&A Mode GmbH & Co. KG, Wanheimer Str. 70, 40468 Duesseldorf (“C&A”).

The Online Shop offers consumers the opportunity to conclude purchase agreements for clothing and accessories with C&A. Details about the conclusion of the purchase agreement can be found in our Terms and Conditions.

Compliance with applicable accessibility requirements

At C&A, we are committed to making our Online Shop accessible to all individuals to benefit from our offerings without barriers. We are dedicated to adhering to the requirements of the applicable accessibility laws. In addition, we aim to ensure that our Online Shop follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, 2.1, AA and the standard of EN 301 549.

Compliance with the above standards has been assessed through a comprehensive audit conducted by a specialized accessibility service provider. The audit was carried out between December 27, 2024, and January 1, 2025, using structured manual testing based on WCAG 2.1 AA methodology.

Based on this assessment, we came to the conclusion that our Online Shop is partially compliant with the aforementioned requirements and standards.

Accessibility features and limitations of the Web Version

Our Web Version of the Online Shop provides the following accessibility features to enhance the customer experience for everyone, regardless of their abilities:

  • Alternative text is provided for meaningful images (e.g., product tiles), while decorative images (e.g., campaign teasers) are correctly marked as such.

  • Keyboard navigation is supported across all key journeys and interface components.

  • Screen reader compatibility has been implemented across core user flows, such as navigation, filters, and checkout.

  • Support for zoom up to 400%, text resizing, and high color contrast is ensured.

  • Links and buttons are descriptively labeled for screen reader users.

We are aware of the following limitations of the Web Version of Our Online Shop in terms of accessibility and are actively working to resolve them during 2025:

  • The Corporate and Career pages currently have accessibility limitations.

  • In some areas, screen readers do not fully announce dynamic content changes or modal window interactions.

  • Certain campaign teaser images may have insufficient text contrast, depending on background tones.

  • In isolated cases, screen reader focus order may not follow the correct logical sequence.

Accessibility features and limitations of the App

The accessibility of the App depends in part on platform-specific assistive technologies, such as VoiceOver on iOS (iOS 18 and later) and TalkBack on Android (Android 15 and later).

Users can navigate through main screens, browse products, and complete purchases using these screen readers.

We are aware of the following accessibility limitations regarding the App and are actively working to resolve them during 2025:

Text scaling: Some screens are not fully optimized for larger text settings, which may cause layout issues or content truncation.

Screen reader support: Certain UI components do not follow the correct accessibility hierarchy or labeling, leading to suboptimal experiences for screen reader users.

Button labeling in teasers: Some teaser components contain buttons with identical or non-descriptive labels, which can be confusing for screen reader users.
